Hello....

Hi, I am Meghan Stewart. I am an educator, mama of four, auntie to many, registered clinical counsellor and avid cold plunger.  I have my own private practice in North Vancouver and love to support people who are feeling overwhelmed, alone, numb, unsure or stuck with old patterns or a challenging something in their life.

I work with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, genders, and identities in North Vancouver and virtually across BC.  I offer a warm, trauma-informed, and integrative approach rooted in attachment-based somatic therapy, supporting children, individuals, and families through a wide range of life challenges, and I am committed to feminist, anti-racist values and proudly support the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

"Meghan offers something truly special in the world of counselling in North Vancouver...Her understanding of grief, chronic pain, and early medical experiences is truly personal and embodied... I could totally see how clients working with Meghan feel seen in ways they haven’t before... As another counsellor in the field, I highly value Meghan’s work, it’s the kind that makes a difference and leaves a mark in clients' lives."

Whether you have had counselling before or this is completely new, there are lots of feelings that come up before beginning like

nervousness, doubt,

anxiety or discomfort.

It is common to feel this way.

Modalities and Approaches

I root my practice in knowing that each client's session will be
unique
and attuned  to them.

grounding yourself with therapy

I have based my work and research in the understanding that our relationships and attachments to our inner nervous system and outer family and friendship circles shape each of us.

I have had extensive supervision training in attachment therapy, somatic work and emotion focused couple work. My research has been focused on early childhood medical trauma and how trauma is stored in the mind and body. I am continuing training in somatic and play therapy. Through story, movement and the therapeutic process, I hope to support your healing journey.

Practitioners I have learned from and worked with are a part of the weaving of my therapeutic practice.  I have deep gratitude for these humans and the books and workshops I have experienced, embodied and learned from.

Following my heart...

I was born with a rare congenital heart condition that significantly influenced my own journey balancing fears with self compassion.

As a child with a significant congenital heart condition, I lived through the confusion, anger, and deep sense of being misunderstood that often comes with chronic illness.

I felt invisible at times—my pain and needs seemed overlooked, and I couldn’t control what my body was going through.

I know firsthand how overwhelming it is to process grief, to face painful medical experiences, and to live with a diagnosis that shifts your sense of self and future.
This is where my dream to support children and families navigate medical trauma began. I offer a unique perspective because I’ve been there—living through the fear, the treatments, and the uncertainty. I understand the emotional and psychological toll it takes on both the child and the family, and I’m deeply committed to helping them process their grief, build resilience, and find strength in the face of hardship.
Medical Trauma in children

My personal experiences gift me with a connection to individuals and families in ways that feel real and compassionate, guiding them through not just survival, but growth, healing, and hope.
