Therapy with Meghan Stewart is grounded in compassion, nervous system awareness, and authentic human connection. She understands how medical experiences, grief, anxiety, and chronic health conditions can shape both emotional wellbeing and the body’s sense of safety. I believe we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and restore through story, rhythm, connection, and sometimes play. It is deeply meaningful to her to support children, teens, adults, and families in reconnecting with their authentic selves and creating space for their true stories to be felt, honoured, and lived with greater compassion and resilience.

Questions? Worries?
It is very normal to have questions and worries when beginning therapy.
My work is deeply informed by my own experience living with a congenital heart condition, being a mom and navigating the emotional realities of life. I understand how isolating, overwhelming, and invisible you can sometimes feel: especially when you are carrying fear, uncertainty, or grief that others may not fully understand.
Starting therapy can also bring up many questions and worries. You may wonder if your experiences are “serious enough,” worry about being vulnerable with someone new, or feel unsure about where to begin. Some people come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted from advocating for themselves within the medical system, while others may struggle to put words to what they’ve been carrying for years. It’s also common to feel anxious about whether a therapist will truly understand the complexities of living with health-related uncertainty or trauma.
Here are some common questions I can answer:
"What if I’m nervous to start therapy?"
“What if I cry the whole session?”
“What if I don’t know what to say?”
“What if therapy makes things feel worse before they feel better?”
“What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?”
“Can I talk about medical trauma or health anxiety
without feeling dismissed?”
“What if I feel embarrassed talking about my fears or grief?”
“Do I have to share everything right away?”
“What if I’m not ready to talk about certain experiences?”
I strive to create a space where you do not have to explain or minimize your experience in order to feel understood. My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, moving at a pace that feels safe and supportive for you. Whether you are navigating health anxiety, medical trauma, grief, or the emotional impact of living with a chronic condition, my hope is that therapy can become a place where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and less alone.
