A Gentle Place to Land
Parenting Counselling
Tools and Resources
As a counsellor at Hands to Heart Therapy, I believe healing happens through safe relationships, compassionate presence, and learning how to come back to ourselves when life feels uncertain.
Whether you are parenting young children, supporting a teenager, caring for a loved one through illness or aging, or simply trying to make sense of the overwhelm of caregiving, therapy can offer a space where your experiences are honoured and your nervous system can finally exhale.
You do not have to navigate this journey alone.

Parenting Was Never Meant toBe Done Alone
Parenting is one of the most important relationships we will ever have.
When we understand behaviour through attachment, strengthen co-regulation, and focus on connection, we create the conditions for children to grow into resilient, confident, and emotionally healthy individuals.
You do not have to navigate parenting challenges alone.
Parenting can be deeply rewarding, meaningful, and joyful. It can also be overwhelming, exhausting, and full of uncertainty.
Many parents find themselves asking:
-
Why is my child behaving this way?
-
How do I help with big emotions and meltdowns?
-
Why do traditional parenting strategies not seem to work?
-
How can I strengthen my relationship with my child?
-
How do I stay calm when my child is struggling?
As both an educator and a counsellor, I bring a unique perspective to supporting children, parents, and families. My work is informed by years of experience understanding child development, learning, emotional well-being, and family relationships. I integrate attachment theory, nervous system regulation, somatic approaches, and developmental frameworks to help parents make sense of their child's behaviours while strengthening connection within the family.
As a mother of four, I also understand that parenting is not simply something you can learn from books or podcasts.
I know the joys, challenges, uncertainties, and emotional demands that come with raising children through different stages of development. My goal is not to help parents become perfect, but to support them in building meaningful relationships with their children, increasing confidence in their parenting, and creating a family environment where both children and caregivers can thrive.
In Schools and my private practice, I have met many parents who feel pulled between competing parenting advice and wonder whether they are doing enough.
My professional and lived experiences have been the foundation of the parenting support model I use. It is grounded in the understanding that children thrive through connection, not correction.
When we understand behaviour through the lens of attachment, development, and nervous system regulation, we can respond with greater confidence, compassion, and effectiveness.
I can relate to the parents that may feel overwhelmed by their child's big emotions while also struggling to stay regulated themselves. It was my kids that taught me this and I love to share co regulation tools.
